Dusk to Dawn

The evening brings a sense of belonging

reminding, though of all my longings

The beauty of a day engulfed in shadows

the chirping shrieks from the meadows

The wild sounds come alive with each parting ray

all the brightness begins to stray

I can see the wild birds flying home

all of them have a place to go, its just me

who's all alone

with parting rays i sense, i belong

the more dark it is, the more the bond's strong

Twilight goes comes the dusk, the darker it is

the deeper is the trust

I know nothing can now be taken

i embrace the arms of darkness which welcomes

letting me know, am no more a stranger

for there are no more the shadows to haunt

nightcrawlers come alive with senses to flaunt

But all my joy is cut short, as another

day approaches the shadows of dawn are back.

I like the flow and comparison of the brighter to the darker thoughts...nature is always an inspiration...

Slick rhyme - your flow takes it with the metaphorical background of darkness! I like. :)
